We had a great time watching the kids play, enjoying the fire and conversation, hiking around, and just being outside together. It was great weather too--just cool enough to appreciate a fire and a sleeping bag, but warm enough during the day to wear short sleeves. Brooke went to bed at her normal time, but we let Megan stay up until almost 9 pm (that's 2 hours later than usual!). She was OUT like a light and both kids slept pretty well. We stayed up until 11 or so but of course, the girls were up at their normal time of 6 am on the dot (sorry Ashley and Beckett). We hiked around the little lake in the morning before heading home. Megan even walked almost the whole hike. All in all, it was a great time and now that I've finally finished the extra loads of laundry, I'm up for doing it again! (Hopefully we won't wait so long before next time.)
Thanks Ashley and Beckett for the invite!
The campsite (can you see Brooke in her favorite spot just inside the tent?)

Getting unpacked...

Brooke in NOT her favorite spot :)--good thing she didn't like it--Megan was pretty possessive of her new chair

The Megans sitting on their favorite jumping step

A short hike in the misty morning hours

Pretty place

Ready to hike!

Our little group...

Don't hold my hand Mom! (fine by me, just stay AWAY from the lake!)

Enjoying the sunshine :)

Oh, that looks like so much fun! It really makes me want to go camping. What a pretty lake to go hike around.
Whew, all of a sudden I noticed I had like 50 posts to read to catch up :) Is Old MacDonald's Farm by you? It sounds like something we'd like.
We had an absolute blast, camping is good for the soul. Glad your family could make it... I think Megan was starting to get bored of her parents!
You sure have been busy posting on your blogg. It is fun to see all the pictures. You have had some wonderful experiences over the past few weeks. Keep posting the pictures of the kids...we love to see them grow.
Hooray for camping!! I haven't been in much too long. However, camping on the beach and in the sand is not all that appealing. Where did you go? I'm also thrilled you're getting your girls out in nature early. It's so important!
What a beautiful campsite. How nice to enjoy some family time away from home. I'm sure the 6am hike was so refreshing. :-)
You guys are such fun parents to take the girls camping! I'm glad you had fun. I was just thinking the other day that I don't think we will go camping until our youngest is quite old... Too bad for our kids! :)
