Another quick catchup.
Sun May 14--We started of at
midnight talking to our missionary, Tyler! So fun to see him and everyone. We crashed
hard and the kids even slept until 6:40 which was miraculous. I got to
stay in bed longer while Dan sent the kids to do baths and he made me
breakfast. We drove to church at the same time, but Dan was speaking so
he sat on the stand. The kids sang and it was adorable. And Heavenly
Father blessed me with lots of patience with a certain 7 year old who
completely melted down in the middle of sacrament meeting. Brooke got
to spend the end of the meeting out in the foyer, but I got to hear
Dan's talk out there, so it worked out just fine. My friends and I kept
joking that it really stinks when you have to "mother" on mother's
day! Dan left after sacrament meeting to go speak in another ward. But
I got the day off of primary and so Emily and I headed to sunday school
and relief society. In relief society we had a small lunch before the
lesson and it was a really fun day. Dan got home just after we did and
we got the kids down for naps and got a nap ourselves. Then he made
dinner and we watched our wedding video and looked at pictures with the
kids and his sister and her fam who came over after dinner. 12 years
married has flown by!
Jamie gave me a necklace with little birds for Dan and me and each kid.
Mon May 15--I picked up groceries after dropping the kids off and mowed the lawn.
Tue May 16--Library storytime, piano after school
Wed
May 17--Lots of swimming today! My friend with a pool hosted playgroup
in the morning and then hosted big kids after early release. So I swam
with my little 2 from 10-11:30, with my big kids from 12:30-2, then
Megan and Brooke went to a swim birthday party from 3-5 and then we all
had swim team!
Thu May 18--Quick costco run. Swimming at our small neighborhood pool with Jack and Emily--Jack is doing great and loving it.
Fri
may 19--I went to the temple in the morning while Jack had playschool.
That was great. We had a quiet evening with just our kids getting
ready for the meet.
My sunflowers are blooming!
Sat May 20--Our first away meet and we won! 2 and 0 which is the best
start for our team in its history. That ended about 2 and we came home
and geared up for babysit night at our house. We played games with one
of the other couples after the kids went to sleep.
Sun May 21--Dan had meetings early but was with us at sacrament
meeting. It was my turn to teach the lesson about spiritual gifts and
it was good. We hosted the last finance class potluck at our house that
night which meant we had 4 other families over (9 adults and 18 kids
total!). It was about investing and giving and was a little crazy with
all the kids but a good discussion too.
Mon May 22--I picked
up groceries early and got those put away before running some other
errands. It was really rainy all day and swim team got
cancelled--hurray for a day off! So we enjoyed being together all
evening and having family night together. Candy talked about how we
have bodies like Heavenly Father.
Tue May 23--Library story time. Piano after school.
Wed
May 24--Playgroup at discovery green. I drove down with my sis in law
and we had a good turnout and it was so fun. Dan had meetings after
swim team that night.
Thu May 25--Dan worked at home since he had one more follow up appt
for his veins. The doc was happy with how his legs are doing, so that
was good. I went visiting teaching in the morning, had lunch and let
the kids splash in the baby pool at my sister in law's house, and
watched my neighbors little girl at quiet time. Dan had meetings last
night too.
Fri May 26--Jack had playschool this morning. The
girls had field day at school and I was able to stop in at each session
to say hi really quick. It's quiet time now. Dan just texted that he's
coming home early, so that's a fun surprise!
We have a meet tomorrow and no school Monday, so it will be a great weekend.
